Actually, I am very surprised that this love story, the novel in verse has so much issues to discuss. Yulia lead us to go deeper on the contexts, the history background and the author's background. It is a pleasure to have such English class with Yulia and the classmates. Highly recommended!
I absolutely enjoyed Yulia's course a lot. One hour a week, 10 lessons in a roll, I haven't skipped any, which is so rare, I had to admit- not even in college! While it became my routine to read the short novel with my classmates, the positive learning relationship between us was constantly inspiring. The root of it was trust-- that Yulia demonstrated it by listening to us, developing thoughts with us, and letting us know all questions from us are meaningful. Yulia is always well-prepared, and what impressed us was that she cared about what we wanted to learn, so the course by and large was interwoven with our interested topics. My favorite part of the course was the insights gained through literature analysis, and surprisingly it was such a great opportunity to know more about the history of Russia and its international relations. This course is genuinely wonderful at every terms-- the contents, the pace, the interaction, the connection, and the great environment carefully built by Yulia. I would like to thank Yulia for such a great learning experience!
Yulia is a very well-prepared teacher, who gives us us a clear history background which I am not familiar with, I enjoy her courses very much!
Also, the book is pretty good, it made us think more, and she also gives us explanations and the background/reasons. I like every discussions we had!!! She also provides vocabulary lists of every chapters, and tells us that what we can say in a proper way.
Highly recommended, and will definitely sign up in the next session if it’s available.
