A great journey with Tom and other classmates. This course is beyond my imagination, it gives me a glimpse on surrealism and magcial realism and some wonderful writings from Borges and Delmore Schwartz. These are totally new to me and broaden my view. The interactions and feedbacks in the class that we throw to each other are very interesting and helpfull too.

Tom is patient, humorous, and always well-prepared! During this course, he provided us with great information about various genres of literature/art and gave us plenty of time to discuss. I've learned a lot from this course and gained different perspectives when reading literature.

It's a wonderful learning experience with my fav themes, literature and English. Tr. Tom introduced the Modern style of fiction and literary genre and employed varied materials, such as films, novels, arts, samples of stories, poetry, etc. He coached us from the explanation to analysis then application step by step. A great practising spoken English went through! Thx all the members and Tr. Tom!

Tom gives everyone good amount of time to share their thoughts, and he always gives encouraging and positive feedbacks. I don’t have literature study background so some of the analyses and questions for me is very new and challenging. I enjoy the short story reading and those rather philosophical questions that Tom throws at us. Overall the class is an inspirational and challenging experience for me.
